Saw an all black Cactus leave the car park the other day. Didn’t look too bad, still not my thing though.

Adorable, but I am puzzled by the use of drum brakes.

Not me. You don’t get them on for example a basic Focus and for the same reason - not needed. The rear brakes on a fwd car don’t do much and drums are perfectly adequate.

The base model is (marginally) cheaper and lighter than a base model Ford Fiesta. Which also comes with rear drums on the base model. The size is somewhere between a Fiesta and a Focus.

I love the Cactus! But you got to have one with some colors, not grey!

I think you're underestimating just how small these things are. Think Mirage but lower roof. I thought they were more like a Focus until I went to Spain and saw one in person. Tiny cars like this don't really need discs.

That’s also not true. When it comes to size the Cactus is roughly halfway between the Fiesta and Focus, while weighing (marginally) less than a Fiesta. A Cactus (416 cm long, 260 cm wheelbase) certainly is considerably larger than Mirage (380 cm long, 245 cm wheelbase).

The Cactus is a low cost vehicle so you get rear drum brakes, single folding rear bench, non roll down rear windows and only 2 air vents.

Much want! If these ever came to Canada one would seriously be in the running for a DD for me as much as I love FIAT :P

Looking at the rear windows it actually makes sense that they don't roll down. You'd have to split the window thanks to the rear wheel well, which would ruin the styling.

Doesn’t really need them, it’s very light. It’s weighs about 920kg I believe.

that’s cool - never heard of those before, (none in the states...) Kind of a mini clubman but a Citroen. I like those LED lights too. Probably wouldn’t sell very well in the states but I like those not very tiny, ‘utility’ hatch type rigs - a super useful vehicle. I’d want the disc brakes though..

The Cactus is still the car I most want brought to the U.S.

I saw a white one as I was leaving the Great North Run on Sunday. Didn’t get a picture though.

I did get a picture of this beauty when I went out to dinner.

Ouch. Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.

This model Megane was hated by quite a lot because it had a big ‘nappy’ on the rear and working on I was a bit of a pig (especially if only you wanted to do was change a headlight bulb).

Mind, they were cheap so it had that going for it.

The Sports get good reviews from people who like the performance and to chuck it about a bit.
